How Tourism Might Just Save the Amazon

The Colombian Amazon has a lot to offer for tourism: its abundant wildlife, the incredibly diverse ecosystem, the local communities, both indigenous and modernized, among many others. The footprint of tourism causes a serious negative impact to the environment, but this story explores how this could change. Against the backdrop of illegal mining or the chopping down of irreplaceable woodlands, and maintaining a realistic eye on the local economy, tourism might just be the most sustainable alternative for inhabitants in the area.
